Welcome to ACT Houston’s website where you can easily access all three locations: Houston, Dallas, and Austin. We provide teacher certification for ALL grade levels and ALL content areas.  And now we also offer Clinical Teaching (Student Teaching!) as a route to teacher certification!

The most common way for teachers to become certified in Texas is through Alternative Certification.  And  the ACT Houston program is one of the most well known Alternative Certification Programs.  Since its inception in 2003, the ACT Houston program has met all requirements set forth by "No Child Left Behind" and has been accredited by the State Board for Educator Certification.  

ACT Houston's locations in Houston, Dallas, and Austin offer you an accelerated route to teacher certification that is coordinated by experienced classroom teachers and administrators. Classes in all locations are taught by master teachers with small class sizes and face-to-face instruction -- all designed to provide you with the best environment for reaching your goal of becoming a certified teacher.

Whether you select a teaching internship or clinical teaching, the ACT Houston program will provide Field Supervisors who create an ongoing network of support that is not available with other programs.  Our certification program was developed for teachers by teachers to offer you the highest quality preparation for quickly entering the classroom as a full-salaried teacher.
